Gomoku: Five Stones in a Row is a strategic board game for two participants. On a square grid measuring 19×19 (in the classic edition) or 15×15 (in the contemporary sports variant), players take turns placing stones of two different colors. The victor is the one who first creates an unbroken line of five stones of their color vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. There are numerous variations, differing in specific aspects of the regulations. The game is thought to have originated in China over two millennia ago. Today, it is recognized worldwide; competitive events are organized based on it.
